Today in class, we were able to take a look at the my.uen.org website. I found it very useful and interesting. It's nice to have a place where I can keep all of my things organized and in one place. It seems to be relatively easy to use, and I look forward to exploring it more.
I like that there are so many links and tools available. I never thought that I could use Wimba as a tool to have outside speakers talk directly to my students! I think that will make reading more meaningful to students when they can interview the author.
I also really like that you can build lesson plans, find lesson plans, and get different video tools. I feel like technology can be used in so many ways to help children understand different concepts. Plus, it is more fun for the students - it will add variety to their day... and to mine :)

Wow, it is SUCH a great organizational tool! I love that you pointed that out. It will be so helpful having everything in one place. I'm also very excited that I can create lesson plans now, and still have them available electronically when I'm a teacher, without even having to print them out and store it! And, I agree with you, adding variety to not only our students' school days, but also ours is very important. :)
ReplyDeleteI full heartedly agree! I'm very excited to be able to create lesson plans using various links and applications. Going into practicum and observing teachers, I got really curious as to how teachers can stay organized with all the chaos that can go on within the classroom. Now with UEN Resources, organization doesn't seem all that scary anymore. And the different options that we can use for our lessons and material with it, just sounds super exciting!
ReplyDeleteYES! I like the idea of inviting authors to speak through Wimba. It brings a new level of excitment to reading, which is always a plus!
ReplyDeletedefinitely adding variety to a teacher's day is important....the more excited a teacher is, the more enthusiastic and hard-working students will be. Did you explore the pioneer library or emedia also?
