YETC Awesomeness!
Today we went into the YETC, and there seemed to be a lot of really useful things in there. I never thought about all the ways that we can implement technology into the classroom! There were so many fun websites. I liked the spelling website. That would be such a fun way for children to do their spelling! I also liked the organizational tools that are out there. I think that science is taking more of a back seat to language arts and math, and there were so many resources that will be useful in bringing more science into the classroom. Also, I know that for me it is nice to be able to have all my things in one place that I can get to easily. As a teacher, I can use these organizational tools to keep myself on track.

That is exactly how I am thinking. I am almost like a grandma and don't know technology. So it made me realize how important technology is and how much it can be used in my classroom.
ReplyDeleteThere is still TONS to learn, huh? I'm amazed at how many resources are available for us to use as teachers, but we just have to find out how to access them. I completely agree with you on how helpful organizational tools are. Zotero.org seemed like it would be extremely helpful in this regard.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about what you said about how science is taking a back seat to language arts and math. The YETC has great NASA resources for all grade levels that will really help bring science alive in the classroom. I also like having my things organized and in one place. I do think that the YETC gave us some resources that we can use to be organized.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I also can't help but wonder if there are lots of sites for math too. I mean, they do have a lot for reading and writing and I'll be interested to find ones that I can use when I'm doing math lessons, which I haven't been able to find very easily in the past. Using these sites will probably help me a lot in that search.
ReplyDeleteglad you liked the yetc. This week we have the fun exciting topic of copyright, so we will have even more fun. Well, copyright may not be quite as fun but it is important.
